#SingaporeMarathon: Historia Wakenya wakifagia nafasi 17 za kwanza

JOSHUA Kipkorir aliongoza Wakenya kunyakua nafasi 17 za kwanza katika kitengo cha wanaume kwenye mbio za Singapore Marathon ambazo Kenya pia ilifagia nafasi nne za kwanza kwa upande wa kinadada nchini Singapore Desemba 9, 2018.

Kipkorir alitumia saa 2:12:20 kukamilisha umbali huo wa kilomita 42. Alifuatwa na Felix Kirwa (2:13:43), Andrew Kimtai (2:14:30), Cosmas Matolo (2:15:42), Felix Kiprotich (2:16:06), Gilbert Yegon (2:16:28), Collins Kibet (2:16:38), Dominic Ruto (2:16:49), Paul Matheka (2:19:35) na Benson Kimutai (2:22:24) katika nafasi 10 za kwanza zilizoandamana na jumla ya tuzo Sh10,755,150. Rui Yong Soh kutoka Singapore alikuwa raia wa kwanza asiye Mkenya kutamatisha mbio za wanaume aliporidhika katika nafasi ya 18.

Wakenya Priscah Cherono (saa 2:32:12), Stella Barsosio (2:33:23), Agnes Kiprop (2:39:14) na Naomi Maiyo (2:39:58) walizawadiwa Sh5,121,500, Sh2,560,750, Sh1,024,300 na Sh614,580, mtawalia.

Hakuna nchi nyingine imeshinda Singapore Marathon kwa upande wa wanaume tangu Joseph Riri anyakue taji la mwaka 2002. Naye Cherono ni Mkenya wa nne mfululizo kutwaa taji la wanawake baada ya Doris Changeywo (2015), Rebecca Chesir (2016) na Pamela Rotich (2017).
