RIADHA ZA MABARA: Wanariadha waliochaguliwa ni wale weledi, asema Yego

“YouTube man” Julius Yego anaamini wanariadha waliochaguliwa kupeperusha bendera ya Bara Afrika kwenye Riadha za Mabara (Intercontinental Cup) ndio weledi. 

Akizungumza katika kikao na wanahabari Ijumaa kabla ya mashindano haya kuandaliwa mjini Ostrava katika Jamhuri ya Czech hapo Septemba 8-9, 2018, Mkenya huyu amesema, “Nadhani tuna kikosi ambacho ni kizuri zaidi barani Afrika. Nasubiri kwa hamu kubwa kuona jinsi mashindano yatakavyokuwa.”

Mbali na bingwa huyu wa zamani wa kurusha mkuki wa Afrika na Dunia, timu ya Afrika ina nyota Wakenya Emmanuel Korir (mita 800), Elijah Manangoi na Winnie Chebet (mita 1500), Edward Zakayo na Hellen Obiri (mita 3000), Conseslus Kipruto na Beatrice Chepkoech (mita 3000 kuruka viunzi na maji) na Mathew Sawe (Kuruka Juu).

Mashindano haya ya mabara yanaleta pamoja timu ya Bara Afrika, Bara Ulaya, Americas na Asia-Pacific. Washiriki wanaounda timu hizi hutolewa katika mashindano ya mabara husika kwa mfano timu ya Afrika ilipatikana baada ya Riadha za Afrika mjini Asaba nchini Nigeria zilizofanyika Agosti 1-5, 2018. Kila bara liliandaa mashindano yake na kuunda timu moja.
