Jepkosgei na Mutiso kutetea ubingwa Gifu Seiryu Half Marathon

MSHIKILIZI wa rekodi ya dunia ya mbio za mseto za kilomita 21, Joyciline Jepkosgei na Mkenya mwenzake Alexander Mutiso watatetea mataji yao ya Gifu Seiryu Half Marathon nchini Japan hapo Aprili 22, 2018.
Baadhi ya washindani wakubwa wa Jepkosgei, ambaye pia anashikilia rekodi ya Gifu Seiryu ya saa 1:07:44, ni mshindi wa mwaka 2016 Eunice Kirwa kutoka Bahrain, na Wakenya Valary Jemeli na Joy Kemuma.
Baada ya kuwasili kutoka mjini Valencia nchini Uhispania alikoshiriki Riadha za Nusu-Marathon Duniani mwezi Februari, Jepkosgei alisema mojawapo ya malengo yake ya mwaka 2018 ni kuvunja rekodi ya dunia.
Hakutangaza mashindano atakayotumia kufanya hivyo kwa hivyo kwa sasa chochote chawezekana katika mashindano yoyote ya kilomita 21 atakayoshiriki yakiwemo Gifu.
Mutiso atakabiliwa na ushindani mkali kutoka kwa Wakenya wakiwemo James Mwangi, James Rungaru na Nicholas Kosimbei, Mganda Moses Kurong na wenyeji Japan.
